EA Sports To Produce Future UFC Branded Titles

Earlier today, Electronic Art announced an agreement with Zuffa, LLC, to develop and distribute games bearing the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) logo.  This partnership gives EA the exclusive rights to produce any future UFC title under their EA Sports Logo, a privilege previously given to THQ.

Both EA and Zuffa seem thrilled about the announcement, but THQ is taking it rather well.  Brain Farrell, CEO of THQ made a statement about their departure from UFC titles:

“We’ve relished our relationship with UFC over the last several years and believe that the UFC gaming brand is in great shape. THQ’s more focused strategy moving forward meant that transferring the license to EA made sense to all parties.  We’d like to thank the UFC for their great support and partnership and wish EA all the best moving forward.”

What do you think UFC fans, can EA Sports pick up where THQ left off?  We’re just glad to see that this didn’t end in another massive legal battle.  Leave your thoughts or concerns in a comment bellow!
