Details On Upcoming Star Trek Game Revealed

Today is a good day for Star Trek fans, as Paramount Pictures and Namco Bandai games released new details regarding the upcoming game based on J.J. Abrams’ movie reboot.  If you’ve yet to hear of the title, it is a standalone two player co-op adventure that continues the adventure of Captain James T. Kirk and Mr. Spock, and is being penned by BAFTA winner and writer of God of War Marianne Krawczyk.

The first announcement comes in the form of the main enemy, which will be the iconic Gorn.  For those unfamiliar with the race, the Gorn are a bloodthirsty species of humanoid lizards with a dictatorship government, who want nothing less than galactic domination.  In-game your foes will have different sizes and skills, such as a venom that can cause hallucinations or kill, and wall-climbing.

Also revealed was the game’s voice cast, which features many of the actors from the 2009 film.  Both Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto will reprise their respective roles of Kirk and Spock, alongside actors Simon Pegg (Scotty), Karl Urban (“Bones” McCoy), John Cho (Sulu),  and Anton Yelchin (Chekov).

To top off the news, the title’s website is now live.  If you head over to Startrekgame.com you’ll find up to date information on the game, screenshots, videos, and the public forums, where you can chat with other fans about your excitement.

Star Trek is set to release on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC in early 2013.
