Warner Announces LEGO: Marvel Super Heroes

Today, Warner Bros. announced the next in the series of LEGO games, entitled LEGO Marvel Super Heroes.  Set to release later this year, the title follows in the comic themed footsteps of LEGOBatman 2: DC Super Heroes – giving fans of both worlds a chance to get their LEGO build on.

Based on its real world LEGO counterpart of the same name, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes will feature an original story line  in which Nick Fury calls on heroes such as Wolverine, Spider-man, Iron Man, and a plethora of other heroes to protect to world from evil villains like the deity Loki, or the tremendous, world-devouring Galactus.  Apparently, according to the press release, the title is set to feature over 100 unlockable and playable characters across the Marvel universe for players to roam around and save the day as.

The Managing Director of TT Games Tom Stone had this to say in regards to the game:

“We’re very excited to bring a myriad of classic Marvel characters to life in LEGO form for some fun, family-friendly gameplay in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes.  Players will brave the ultimate mission to save the world as they explore famous landmarks in LEGO New York and take the adventure beyond Earth to iconic locations in the Marvel Universe.”

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes has a vague release date of fall 2013.  Stay tuned for more details as they become available, and for a full review at, or around, launch.
