Payday 2 Slated For Retail Release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3

505 Games has announced that Payday 2, the sequel to Payday:  The Heist, will not just be limited to digital download, but will be released for retail on the Xbox 360 and PS3.  Payday 2 Game Director David Goldfarb said, “We have a bit of a problem here at Overkill – there are just too many great ideas and none that we were really happy to throw out – so Payday 2 has become just too big to reserve release on Xbox Live® and PlayStation®Network alone.”

Payday 2 is a four player co-op shooter that lets players wear the masks of the original crew in the first game – Dallas, Hoxton, Wolf, and Chains – as they start a crime spree in Washington D.C.  With a large array of contracts from the CRIMENET, players are free to choose anything from small-time convenience store hits or kidnappings to major league bank jobs and cyber-crimes.  You’ll even have the opportunity to participate in your local community and run some “political errands”.  As your crew progresses through the game the jobs will get bigger and better.
