Europa Universalis IV Demo Out Now on Steam

With only four days to go until the release of Europa Universalis IV on August 13, Paradox Interactive and Paradox Development Studios have released a demo of the game to Steam.

This is a game that will let you rule your nation with absolute freedom in this time of exploration.  In the demo, you’ll be able to take on the flag of one of four available nations.  Work the trade system as Venice, head on off to war as the Ottoman Empire, explore and found new colonies as Portugal or take part in shrewd diplomacy as Austria.  The demo games will last for 28 in-game years and include an intensive tutorial and hint system.  Multiplayer capabilities and save and load features will be disabled for the demo.

As an added bonus for fans of the series for the first time ever, Europa Universalis IV will feature cross-platform play.  This means that multiplayer battles will occur across computer systems.  No matter whether you are playing on Windows, Mac or Linux, the system will conduct battles as though you were all playing on the same type of system for either competitive or cooperative play.

You can download the demo of the game from the Steam website.  If you’d like to read more about what the demo includes, you can do so from the ParadoxPlaza Forums.

It’s not too late to pre-order the game and take advantage of all the bonuses offered so far, including Crusader Kings II save converter and a copy of Crusader Kings II by checking out the pre-order website.  For more information on Europa Universalis IV, be sure to visit the game’s website.
