Rumor: PlayStation 4 Specs Possibly Leaked

With E3 fast approaching, the internet is buzzing with rumors, speculation, and supposed leaks, concerning the new next-gen consoles.  The latest comes in the form of a  fact-sheet, detailing the hardware specs and even a release window for the PlayStation 4.

Spotted by German site gamesaktuell.de, the sheet apparently covers everything from video memory to backwards compatibility.  Supposedly, the PS4 will run with an advanced Cell processor and 10GB of video memory, and will display with a massive resolution of 3840×2160  in 2D (though 3D will also be supported in 1080p).  This graphical feat is apparently generated by two custom Nvidia graphics chips.  For backwards compatibility, no specific details are touched on, stating only that it should handle older PlayStation discs without problem.  All of this is set to release in the fourth quarter of 2013, should it be true.

Sounds like PlayStation fans will get their hands on quite a powerful device, should the fact sheet be official.  While everything may point towards a legit set of specs (the sheet even sports the phrase “for developer use only”), just remember to take it with a pinch of salt.  If you’re interested, you can check out the original article here, just make sure you’ve got a translator handy!
