Diablo III Auction House Closing In Favor Of Killing More Monsters
Sad news for fans of Diablo III. Blizzard Entertainment has decided, after much consideration, to close the Auction House. The Auction House was meant to be a convenient way for players to trade or sell off equipment to others. However, even though many players worldwide use the feature it was decided that the Auction House undermined the core gameplay of Diablo III which is to kill monsters and get loot. With the Auction House in place, no one really needed to do that. So, with that in mind, the decision was made to close the gold and real-money system from the game.
But fear not, faithful fans. A new Loot 2.0 system is being developed concurrently with Reaper of Souls to ensure a whole new rewarding game experience for all.
Details on how the Auction House will be shut down are still being worked out but Blizzard wanted to give as much notice of the change as possible. The Auction House will officially be shut down as of March 18, 2014.
For more information on the shut down, watch the video below or check out the website, Facebook and Twitter pages.
