So… Are You Fallout 4 or Not? The Survivor2299 Hubbub

I remember when I was a little girl, my brothers used to play this dirty little mind trick on me to get me all riled up. They’d whisper fake words into each other’s ears, and as soon as I got close enough to barely make out what they were saying, they would both whisper (albeit slightly louder to make sure I heard): “Don’t tell Rachel.”  It drove me nuts. I just had to know what I wasn’t supposed to know!

25 Hours Can Truly Make a Difference! Join Us For The Extra Life Marathon.

Gamers usually start out falling in love with video games at a very young age. I know I can’t remember a time when I didn’t play, so it makes sense that we would encourage and support our youth through the same medium that makes us feel so young at heart. And what better way to do that than to take those games and do a marathon for children who need our support the most, because they’re sick or injured?

2011 A Year Of Videogames in Review

Having heralded in the New Year with new games, consoles, and adventures to look forward to, Wanderson75.net decided it was high time to look at what this past year brought to the world of gaming and technology.  Even a cursory glance would remind us that 2011 was a bit of a rollercoaster ride, providing a myriad of emotions ranging from excitement and anticipation (announcements of next generation consoles and handhelds) to outrage and disgust (major game services being hacked), a sense of loss (at Steve Jobs death), or even incredulous hilarity (the recent Ocean Marketing debacle).   Here are some of the more noteworthy items, in our most humble opinion: Read On »

We Don’t Work For Sarif – Syndicate

As previously discussed, evolution is a necessary thing.  Both the original Syndicate and its sequel were objective-based point-and-click affairs managed from an isometric view.  Such a game, unless handled very carefully, will not translate well to the console environment.  Numerous RTS titles have failed in spectacular fashion to illustrate this point, so Starbreeze adapted the IP order to allow it to survive.  It has been reinvented in order to not only meet the wants of the gaming masses, but also to approach a beloved IP from a new direction.

And boy, are people pissed about it. Read On »

Holiday Wishes From Wanderson75.net

With 2011 coming to a close, this Christmas promises to be the greatest year ever for gaming.  Highly anticipated titles such as Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Gears of War 3, Deus Ex: Human Revolution filled the year to the brim with too much to possibly pick up all at once.  2012 is shaping up to be an even bigger year with rumours abound of console announcements; the PlayStation Vita launch is just around the corner, and Nintendo’s Wii U is beginning to take shape.  We here at Wanderson75.net will be bringing even more news and reviews to you in the next year to come as we continue to grow.  Plans not yet announced for the site are on the horizon, the Consumer Electronic Show is just around the corner, and even greater things are on the way.

But today is the day that we break away from the norms of game reviews, scouring the internet for news to deliver and checking in on the latest technology.  Staying up for late night editing and review parties is the usual practice; but today we sit down with our families and share in the joy that Christmas brings.  On behalf of myself and the team here at Wanderson75.net, we wish everyone a very happy holiday.  May your tree be full of presents, your bellies be full from a hearty meal, and may your hearts be filled with happiness as you spend the day with loved ones.

In the spirit of giving, please take a moment to remember those who may not be as fortunate and donate to a worthy cause.  So many organizations such as Child’s Play, the Children’s Miracle Network, Focus Hope, and more work tirelessly to bring happiness and joy during this time of year.

Merry Christmas.

Developers Share Their Biggest Christmas Wishes

Every kid growing up wanted that one thing for Christmas that they just never got.  For me, it was the Transformers Constructicon set that had all of the robots to form Devastator.  Granted, my parents tried, getting me the Aerialbots instead because the stores never had the Constructicons in stock.  But they were only in one episode of the cartoon and just not as bad-ass as the big green meanie.  Everyone has had that “one thing” that they always wanted, including our friends at Twisted Pixel and Certain Affinity.  So I decided to find out what “that thing was”.  I think you’ll find the results to be entertaining. CES – Life After Microsoft

After 20 years, Microsoft is walking away from the International Consumer Electronics Show…well, sort of.

The story, broken by major outlets yesterday reported that Microsoft would no longer be carrying the presence at the International CES like it has over the last two decades.  With Bill Gates having delivered the annual keynote speech for 11 years; and his successor, Steve Ballmer, delivering the speech for the last four, thinking of a Consumer Electronics Show without Microsoft in the forefront is almost unimaginable.  However, in a blog post yesterday, Microsoft had made some very valid points regarding their departure as the steward of the biggest consumer technology event of the year.
